"He too walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother encouraged him to act wickedly." (v.3)

Ahaziah’s downfall happens in three steps:

✔ Ahaziah visits his wounded ally King Joram of Israel.
✔ Jehu, God’s appointed executioner, is on a mission to cleanse Israel of Ahab’s wicked descendants.

🔹 2. The Judgment of Ahaziah (v.9)

✔ Ahaziah tries to flee but is captured in Samaria.
✔ Jehu executes him, bringing an end to his short and sinful reign.

✔ When Athaliah sees that her son Ahaziah is dead, she seizes the throne.
✔ She massacres all potential heirs—even her own grandsons—to eliminate any threats.
